Frequently Asked Questions

If your dog is sociable and you are happy for them to play and interact with our dogs, then we'd love for them to join our group walks.

I do offer individual/ same dog household walks if you'd prefer your dog(s) not to walk within a group.

Will my dog be walked with other dogs?

How many dogs are walked at any one time?

Small group walks are currently 4-6 dogs at any one time. When walking in a group, each dog is carefully selected taking into account their age and personality. This will be discussed with you during your free consultation so we can match your dog with a suitable group.

Will my dog be walked on or off lead?

I am happy for your dog to walk either on or off lead. Off lead dogs must be trained with good recall and on lead dogs must be lead trained. If your dogs recall is a little rusty but still likes to explore, I am happy to use a long line where possible. I will not let your dog off lead without your signed consent. With off lead consent, your dog can enjoy playing and running free in a safe environment.

Where do you walk?

All of our walks are in Taunton and the surrounding areas. There are plenty of beautiful open spaces to walk where your dog will be in a safe and pleasant environment.

My dog(s) only need occasional walks, not every day/week. Can I still sign up?

Absolutely! Whether you work part time, shifts or you'd simply like your dog(s) to only be walked on occasion, I can help.

Providing I have availability in the diary, you can book up to 24 hours before you'd like them walked (after our initial consultation).

Please also keep an eye out over on our Facebook page, if a cancellation comes up I may be able to offer this to you providing you have had your initial consultation and are 'signed up'.

I'd like to see what my dog has been up to, will you keep me updated?

Of course! I'll send you photos and videos of what they've been up to! Whether you'd like a daily or weekly update, just let me know.

I also share your pets photos (with your consent) to the gallery and social media. You'll also find regular updates via our Instagram and Facebook.

What do you do incase of an emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will call you as soon as possible.

I am certified for Dog First Aid & Emergency Canine Care, so with your consent I will take necessary action. I always carry a dog first aid kit as a precaution. In our original consultation, I require additional 'in case of emergency' contact details. If veterinary assistance is needed, I will take your dog to your chosen veterinary practice or depending on the circumstances, to the nearest possible vets.

My dog has not been spayed/neutered, can they still be walked?

Yes they can. During our initial consultation I require this information about your dog. I consider each dog individually upon further discussion on their behaviour and characteristics. I reserve the right to refuse any dog/bitch.

I can also walk bitches in season but they can only be walked individually and will strictly not be let off lead (please see individual walk prices).

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured including public liability, transport and key cover. I can provide copies of this in your welcome pack or you can request to see this anytime.

What if I need to cancel?

Please call or text me on 07407177258 or email charlotte@muttleyandmartha.co.uk if you need to cancel. Please give at least 24 hours notice for no charges to apply. I understand that in emergency situations it isn't always possible to give more than 24 hrs notice, so for this reason I do offer for you to reschedule where possible or a partial refund depending on the circumstances.

How do I book?

Simply visit the 'contact' page and fill in the enquiry form. Once I have received your information I will get in touch with you to arrange a time suitable for you, to talk all about your dog(s) / cat(s) requirements and introduce you to the welcome pack. There is no pressure to sign up during your initial consultation, I will leave you with a welcome pack should you wish to sign up at a later date.

Don't see the answer you are looking for above? Please get in touch and i'd be happy to answer them for you!

Do you collect and drop off my dog(s)?

Yes. I will collect your dog from your home or place of work (within a 2 mile radius of Taunton, Somerset) before their group or individual walk and return them after. You do not need to be home for pick up/ drop off, most clients are comfortable to provide me with a set of keys. I am DBS checked and insured for key cover (you are welcome to request to see this).
